Thanks for this too. I had to read a couple of times before I think I fully understood. As I had never heard of Thomas Merton I did some searching. I cannot believe the amount of his work that has been published posthumously. I found some more quotes and these are a few that said something to me.
We have what we seek, it is there all the time, and if we give it time, it will make itself known to us.
We are not at peace with others because we are not at peace with ourselves, and we are not at peace with ourselves because we are not at peace with God.
Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone – we find it with another.
